New Operator and Gameplay Updates in Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Brutal Swarm
Ubisoft has launched the latest update for Rainbow Six Siege, titled Operation Brutal Swarm, bringing a range of new features, weapons, and gameplay mechanics to players. This update is now live on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, offering an enhanced experience for both veteran and new players.
Introducing Grim: The Robot Bee Operator
At the heart of this update is Grim, a brand-new Attacker operator from Singapore. His unique ability revolves around the Kawan Hive Launcher, which deploys a swarm of robot bees. These mechanical insects can track Defenders who are caught in their path, revealing their positions to the Attackers. Even after the Defender leaves the area, the bees continue to ping their location a few times, providing crucial tactical advantages.
Grim is available through the premium Battle Pass track of Operation Brutal Swarm. Players who opt for the premium version can gain immediate access to him, while others will be able to unlock him in two weeks using Renown or R6 Credits. As an Attacker, Grim moves at 3-speed and comes equipped with a 552 Commando assault rifle or SG-CQB shotgun as his primary weapon, along with a P229 pistol as a secondary option. He can also carry either a claymore or breach charges as his generic gadget.
New Map: Stadium
A major addition to the game is the Stadium map, which has made its debut after being first showcased during the 2021 Road to SI event. This map introduces unbreakable glass walls that allow players to ping and distract opponents without attacking them. It also includes color-coded areas to improve communication between teammates. The Stadium is now available in regular matches and Team Deathmatch, offering a fresh environment for strategic gameplay.
New Gadget: Impact EMP Grenade
Attackers now have access to a new gadget called the Impact EMP Grenade. When thrown, it explodes on impact and can disable electrified barriers and other Defender gadgets. This provides a powerful tool for breaking through defensive setups and creating openings for the Attackers.
Gameplay Improvements and Updates
Operation Brutal Swarm also brings several gameplay updates aimed at improving customization and fairness:
- Attachments: Suppressor attachments no longer penalize damage, and they are now more widely available across different weapon types. This allows players to tailor their loadouts with greater flexibility.
- Cheating and Abuse: The match-replay feature now enables players to report cheaters. Additionally, abusive text chat may result in a reputation penalty, promoting a more respectful and fair gaming environment.
- Map-Ban System: Players can now vote on five maps instead of three, giving them more control over the match selection and ensuring a balanced playing field.
What’s Available Now?
Grim is accessible through the premium Battle Pass track, while the Stadium map, Impact EMP grenade, and all gameplay updates are available to all Rainbow Six Siege players. This update adds a fresh layer of strategy and excitement to the game, especially with the introduction of Grim’s robotic swarm.
